Let’s Make the Gate Great!
Following this year’s theme noted above, progress continues to move forward.
Maria Botana, Iberia Bank Golden Gate Branch manager and chairman of the Business Committee, hosted a Business Social, then captured some business owners participation to determine an agenda to assist the local businesses with their needs in the community.
Guadalupe Lopez, chairman of the Communications Committee, has made progress with her committee members of Paul Valkenburg and Gryn Phiri in reaching out to the community to spread their message and encourage participation in our community across many interests.
Ed Rogan, Chairman of the Litter/Education/Beautification Committee, is seeking volunteers to meet at 7 a.m., Saturday, May 24, to post American flags along Golden Gate Parkway in honor of Memorial Day (May 26). Volunteers are also needed to retrieve the flags at 7 a.m., Tuesday, May 27. More hands make light the work (and saves the backs) for this highly visible and impressive display of community pride. If you are new to our group, this is a wonderful way to be a part of what makes our community so great – civic pride. Meet at the Golden Gate Community Center parking lot.
In addition to these new committee reports, we will discuss new developments in the Beautification Committee, sidewalks, code enforcement, law enforcement, fire and rescue, and more. Don’t forget to attend the 5k fun run on May 23rd.
See you at the next meeting.
