2025 Golden Gate 9-11 Memorial Service
The community of Golden Gate hosted a commemorative 9-11 Service, “We Will Never Forget,” at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025 at the Golden Gate Government Center, 4701 Golden Gate Parkway. This was the 21st year that the community has hosted a service in remembrance of those who lost their lives to the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America.
Golden Gate Sheriff’s Substation Commander Lt. Neal Bohannon presided as master of ceremonies. The colors were presented by the Golden Gate High School JROTC Color Guard and the flag was raised by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard. Elder Pamela Solomon and and Fr. Michael Orsi presented the invocation and the benediction, respectively.
A memorial wreath, sponsored by Legacy Options, was presented by Harry Irizarry, NYPD Retired, in remembrance of the victims of 9-11. A bell ceremony was conducted by the Greater Naples Fire Rescue District in honor of first responders who lost their lives in the attacks. JROCT cadent Amanda Villaverde presented a poetry reading, “The Eleventh of September,” by Roger J. Robicheau. Veteran and 9-11 Ground Zero Responder Dave Ramos played taps.
